This section is for briefly listing smaller contributions I have made across Star Citizen.

Pyro Outpost: Yang's Place

Yang's Place is a small independent mining outpost located on Pyro2. Outbackers looking for a fresh start in life will sometimes carve out a square for themselves in lawless space. These outposts serve as small mission locations for different generated missions. Most buildings are refurbished abandoned colonies from former colonization attempts done by corporations looking to exploit the lawless system before coming to the conclusion that its more work that its worth.

Yang's Place features three main sections: Habitats, Mining and the Communication's Tower. From the lowest point, Habitats, you can see the highest point, The Communication's Tower. The natural path leading up along the hill leading up to the tower will reveal the miningsite for a player on foot.

Habitats
The main living area for the workers. This is where all life-support systems, logisticsplatforms and storages are located. There is a singular mainbuilding, a landingpad, a small farm for growing drugplants, and multiple storage sheds. Surrounding these are clusters of rocks that have slid down from the surrounding mountains forming natural windbreaker, shielding workers somewhat from the harsh climate. These were added to also give players more protection during approaches by foot or ground vehicle. When working with planetside locations we have very limited ability to affect the planet terrain, but props life rocks and trees can be added to create natural cover.

This location was designed almost like a stealth level. There are tons of hidingspots inbetween rocks, in greenhouses, behind containers and such, and the player has many paths to move unseen around the entire compound. The benefits of doing it this way is that it both futureproofs the location for when stealth comes in, as well as naturally leads into there being cover for combat.

For the explorative players, small sites of interest can be found which adds a layer of unspoken history to the place. Things like graves, old piping, a burnt out building with a hidden stash. These help ground the location in the harsh isolation of a lawless, outback world.

Mining
Ontop of the nearby plateu a small mining operation to extract rare minerals is ongoing. This operation is being built illegally and without any concern for safety standards. All equipment is rusty and put together from whatever could be salvaged from centuries old mining attempts done by companies looking to make a buck when the system was first being colonized.

With heavy inspiration from the Borderlands game, the miningsite consists of three miningtowers surrounded by a chaotic scramble of coolingunits, storageunits and boxes of spareparts. Many small makeshift barricades can be found dotted around. Due to the lawless nature of the system, every inhabitant need to be ready to take on any attacking force that show up, as no help is coming. Metalgrates are put out to help people and vehicles navigate the slowly disintegrating grounds. The site is messy on purpose but still readable enough to work as a combat arena. The site is surrounded by cliffs and rocks to allow snipers and marksmen to assist during combat.

Some old, rusted mining equipment can be found pushed out of the way, telling of failed attempts of the past.

Radiotower
The smallest and most isolated location, this radiotower has only a basic gameplay pass and mostly serve as a vistaplace. Since combat can break out anywhere in the universe, even a small location like this need a combatpass done, so some basic considerations have been made to allow a natural flow and cover for both AI and players. If no combat breaks out however, just lean back and enjoy the view!

Pyro Outpost: The Yard

The_Yard_-_Bloom,_Pyro_system.png.webp

The Yard is a small outlaw outpost on Pyro3. Owned and operated by the Headhunters gang this site is a heavily defended storage for weapons of mass destruction. The central compound is surrounded by three major structures in the form of a massive burning trashpile, a watchtower and a windturbine. The Yard is located in the middle of a field with good vision from all directions, meaning that groundforces would have a difficult time charging the fortification.

Surrounding the mainbuilding are a bunch of smaller "quarters." There is a junkyard, a workshop, an irrigated farmland, a small farmequipment shed and repairstation as well as a watchtower. Everything has a rundown and hastly put together look and there are barricades everywhere for cover. These have been placed to create the impression of multiple loose perimeters that the outlaws can push/retreat into during attacks.

The entire outpost was designed so that it theoretically could be used like a "camp" in an open world actiongame. There needed to be natural cover players could use as they moved up and many paths a player could theoretically use to move around, taking out enemies one by one and dragging their corpses to hide in obscure corners. Most of the gameplay tested was in combat.

Many corners for players to explore will reveal hidden secrets and stories. What appears like a standard outlaw camp is in reality a storage for weapons of mass destruction, but only a players really going out of their way to snoop would be privy to this.
